Burundi

Bunjimbura the capital of Burundi is quite small and attractive in its own way. The streets were busy and u could see coming into the city that Burundi was one of the poorest countries in the world. Shops and buildings were little more than wooden shacks and small. 

On the outskirts, visited the meeting point of where Dr Livingstone and Stanley were thought to have met and said " Doctor Livingstone I presume ". 

The Post office was large in staff but little activity. The stamp counter had a selection of stamps and were very helpful 

Burundi is very cheap and with the Belgium influence I was assured of excellent food. 

Stayed in hotel overlooking Lake Tanganyika.
